The famous Y-Bridge, located here in Zanesville, Ohio carries U.S. Route 40 and Linden Avenue traffic over the Muskingum and Licking Rivers.

This bridge was opened in 1984 and is the 5th Y-Bridge to stand where these two rivers meet.

The 4th Y-Bridge was opened in 1902 and was of about the same design.

The 3rd Y-Bridge was built in 1832 and was a toll bridge for about 36 years.It was a covered wooden bridge as was the 2nd bridge, also a toll bridge(we are not sure what year it was built).

The 1st Y-bridge was a open wooden bridge built in 1814,and it too was a toll bridge .

Amelia Earhart called Zanesville "the most recognizable city in the country," referring to the Y Bridge?s usefulness as a navigational aid to pilots.

It is the only bridge in the US with three ends, over the Licking and Muskingum Rivers.
